About Car Wash Finder US
A directory of 43,282 car washes in 10,278 cities and towns across the United States โ built around one question: what kind of wash is it?
Why the type matters
A touchless automatic, a self-serve bay with a wand, an express tunnel and a hand wash are four very different things. Most maps just say "car wash". We show the type on every listing, so you know before you pull in whether brushes will touch your paint or whether you will be holding the wand yourself.
- Touchless car washes โ Automatic washes that clean with high-pressure water and detergent only โ no brushes, no cloth strips touching the paint.
- Self-serve car washes โ Wash bays with a pressure wand and foam brush where you do the work yourself โ pay with quarters, a card or your phone, depending on the site.
- Tunnel and express car washes โ A conveyor pulls your car through a line of washers, brushes and dryers โ the fastest way to a clean car, usually in a few minutes.
- Hand car washes โ Staff wash your car by hand, often with interior cleaning โ the gentlest option for the paint and the one that takes longest.
- Truck washes โ Wash bays and wash lines built for tractor-trailers, buses and RVs โ tall doors, long bays and equipment for heavy vehicles.
Where the data comes from
The listings combine open map data (ยฉ OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL, and ยฉ Overture Maps Foundation). Cities, states and metro areas follow the official boundaries of the U.S. Census Bureau. The type of wash is shown only where a listing states it โ in a map tag or in names such as "Touchless", "Laser Wash", "Coin-Op" or "Express" โ or where a chain runs only one format, such as the express tunnel chains. Where nothing says it, we do not guess. We keep the data up to date.
